3/9/02 Sun 6.5 1.3 5.2 Norman Island, BVI Fundraising regatta for the Moravian Church sponsored by the Coral Bay Yacht Club. Crew included Jim Phillips & Beva Rodriguez, Dan & Mary Davis, Ruth Ann, Ed, and Larry & Jane Brown. Big barbeque on shore but most everyone stayed aboard. Bay full of cruisers and a good time was had by all. Layed LM a bit close to shore and bumped rudders on the bottom so had to re-anchor a bit further out. 3/9/02

3/28/02 Thu 10.2 1.6 6.4 Road Harbour, Tortola Jim, Beva and James join in Coral Bay. Sail to Wickham's Cay to pick up new lifelines. Had a bit of a dinghy adventure but managed to do my chores without losing the day.
3/28/02   10.7 1.7 6.3 Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, Virgin Gorda, BVI Sail on to VGYC, noticing the Puerto Rican "Navy" has us surrounded. Will be very crowded for Easter weekend. Almost dead calm so sails are doing very little. Barely got a slip and secured for night. Lunch at Bath & Turtle. Rob and Kathy from St. John joined us for dinner at Chez Bamboo. Very nice. 3/29/02
3/29/02 Fri 15.3 2.5 6.1 Anegada, BVI Battled for the fuel dock at VGYH and had a brief scare when their pumps were not operating. But they were restored and we fueled up. Rob and Kathy joined us for the ride north. Another dead calm day with the mainsail pretending to help. Beautiful day, got lucky and found a mooring for the night. Lunch and dinner at Anegada Beach Hotel.
3/30/02 Sat         Rented a safari truck and toured the island. Very much like most Bahamanian islands…flat with pretty beaches and great reefs. Had a beer at Cow Wreck Bar. Sunbathed, snorkeled and lunched at Big Bamboo. Got to swim with some Hawksbill Turtles. Dined aboard: barbeque chicken and trimmings.
3/31/02 Sun         Easter brunch at Neptune's Treasure. Rob and Kathy gave us rides to the beach off Cow Wreck where we spent a lazy day in and out of the water. Nice lunch at their restaurant and a free cab ride home. Dinner at Neptune's Treasure. 4/1/02
4/1/02 Mon 31.6 5.2 6.1 Coral Bay, St. John, USVI Pleasant sail back to Coral Bay. Just enough breeze to sail most of the way.

Coral Bay, St. John, USVI Departure port 4/9/02
4/9/02 Tue 17.9 3.3 5.4 Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, Virgin Gorda, BVI Ted and his friend Jamie joined us for a sail to Virgin Gorda. The seas were pretty rough (5-8 foot on the bow) and Jamie got seasick toward the end. Tricky slip near the seawall with a 25 knot crosswind, but all went well. Good thing, due to the size of the audience. Had lunch at the Bath and Turtle and then took a cab to the Baths and had a pleasant time; very few tourists. Cocktail at Top of the Baths. Spent the night at VGYC and had dinner at The Rock. Ambiance was nice but chilly for outside dining and food only average. 4/10/02
4/10/02 Wed 7.5 1.2 6.5 North Sound, Virgin Gorda, BVI Early departure to North Sound. Entered through Anguilla Point cut and found smooth water within. Moored at the Bitter End Yacht Club. Cruised over to BEYC to have lunch but none was being served so we dinghied over to Leverick Bay and ate at the Lighthouse (formerly Pussers). Back to the boat for read and relax. Dinner at Saba Rock Resort. Pleasant dinner, amazing conversion of the Pirate's Pub.
4/11/02 Thu         Explored BEYC some more. Katreena and I hiked a great and rigorous trail over the peak and down to Biras Creek Resort. Gorgeous views. Cruised over to Prickly Pear Island and had lunch at the Sand Box. A mooring became available here so I dinghied over to the BEYC and fetched L. Moon. Weather was spectacular so we dined aboard. 4/12/02
4/12/02 Fri 25.5 4.0 6.4 Coral Bay, St. John, USVI Had hoped that the prevailing winds would give us a nice spinnaker day, but the winds all but died. Weather was clear but calm, so we motorsailed home.
