St. Simons Island, GA Departure Port. 11/3/03
11/3/03 Mon 28 6.0 4.7 Fernandina Beach, FL Off to a difficult start as the captain failed to check the bottom. The running gears had turned into small bushes due to growth and control was almost lost trying to exit the slip. After some anxious moments we tied off to our neighbor craft and called for a diver. After getting cleaned up, we topped off the tanks and finally got under way. Very pleasant cruise down the ICW. The weather was fair and bright, traffic light, scenery natural. Tied off well outside at Fernandina Beach Marina providing insurance against the bog inside at low tide. Relaxing stroll ashore with the pups. 11/4/03
11/4/03 Tue 53 8.3 6.4 St. Augustine, FL We had another pleasant voyage down the ICW and once again docked at Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor. They only had a very tight t-dock inside but LM managed to snug in without incident. Another very pleasant evening aboard. 11/5/03
11/5/03 Wed 56 10 5.6 Ponce Inlet, FL Another very pleasant cruise was halted at a fixed bridge in Ormond Beach that was possibly too tight at high tide, as indicated by another cat waiting at anchor. Out of caution we anchored and waited almost two hours until a tall monohull squeaked under. We followed suit and continued down the ICW. Due to the delay we changed original plans and secured a dock at Inlet Harbor Marina near Ponce Inlet. The current was racing at several knots so docking was a small adventure. The marina restaurant was lively and the food was fair, but the evening ended very well. 11/6/03
11/6/03 Thu 35 6 5.8 Titusville, FL After another uneventual cruise downt he ICW we once again docked at Titusville Municipal Marina. The pups had fun checking out the manatees again. We strolled further in search of dining options but elected to dine aboard due to poor choices. 11/7/03
11/7/03 Fri 35 5.3 6.6 Melbourne, FL Our final destination for this trip is Melbourne City Marina. They tucked us all the way in the back on the seawall feet from a low highway bridge. However, it made for ease of loading and unloading, and taking the pups to potty, with the riverfront park nearby.
11/8/03 Sat         Lazy day of hanging out and playing with the pups.
11/9/03 Sun         Back to Georgia and earning more boat upkeep bucks.

11/26/03 Wed       Melbourne, FL After a few weeks of business trips we drove back to Melbourne.
11/27/03 Thu         A very pleasant Thanksgiving dinner aboard 11/28/03
11/28/03 Fri 42 6.3 6.7 Ft. Pierce, FL After another pleasant cruise down the ICW we put in at Ft. Pierce City Marina. They have great facilities, several good restaurants and a nice big park for dog walking. A great evening to dine, stroll and relax. 11/29/03
11/29/03 Sat 39 6.7 5.8 West Palm Beach, FL In order to break the day up we anchored in Lake Worth and remained aboard for the evening. Quite pleasant and easy to depart. 11/30/03
11/30/03 Sun 49 10 4.9 Hollywood, FL Fuel was running low so we topped off at Sailfish Marina. This was quite a jockying challenge due to the numberous commercial and private fishing boats doing the same. The outside cruise was bumpy and LM had to fight seas to maintain any speed at all. All of the conditions were unfavorable. Once inside we carefully navigated around all of the military patrol boats protecting ships, cleared a few bridges and tucked into LM's new home at Harbor Islands Marina.
12/1/03 Mon         Time to prep Laughing Moon for some away time. Poor girl.
12/2/03 Tue         Back to Georgia and earning wages.
