| 2005 April to December - SE Florida and the Bahamas |
Laughing Moon relocated from Hollywood, FL, to Lake Park, FL. Voyages are within Southeast Florida and the Bahamas.
Laughing Moon in Peck Lake off the ICW in part of the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge. Charts say there's no depth here but none of these boats are high and dry.
Katreena taking a stroll down the Atlantic Beach with Coco and Callie. This beach is reached by a small trail from Peck Lake.
Brrr...cold, cries Katreena. Coco just wants the leash removed so she can go surfing with her mom.
Coco is such a trickster. Here she's pretending to be an ostrich. The tail sort of gives it away.
So that's why they call them "pup tents".
Is that a hat? No, it's Coco doing another of her strange impressions. We're heading north up the ICW heading for Manatee Pocket in Stuart.
A sizable manatee family entertained us one morning in Peck Lake.
Pals side by side. The only two members of the Two Moons Yacht Club, Honey Moon and Laughing Moon.
Two peaceful yachts greeting the sunrise..

The
one that got away. Hooked into this pretty and sizable Dorado just
south of Mayaguana, Bahamas. Katreena didn't have the heart to gaff
it so I tried to haul it up onto the sugar scoop. As I dropped down
to try and grab it he flipped his head and snapped the line. Hey,
I'm a sailor not a fisherman! |
This
one didn't get away! Not as big but gave us several meals. Also
caught south of Mayaguana.
